چکیده
This article describes the outcomes of development project MATES to STEAM. The is aimed at integrating Construction 4.0 content a recently started new degree on Technologies Civil Engineering. integration underpinned by creation STEAM-rich activities that can complement such degree. philosophical design these followed three requirements: (i) should infuse 4.0-related technologies, (ii) foster motivation among students with STEAM vision by-design and (iii) be designed hardware-software independent perspective (open-source, accessible, affordable). Cornerstone capstone projects as well set workshops represent demonstrators activities. All are knitted together in single path which an educational attempt fill identified gaps proposed. provides completeness whole development. During last two years, was developed design, implementation several were completed. In years come, systematic deployment analysis expected when full Engineering will addressed.

Toward designing new classrooms.
This study is a work on analyzing the traditional shapes of classrooms. A model is presented that considers the rectangular classroom divided into five sections as a function of two factors: viewing distance and horizontal viewing angle. The reading time and number of errors are affected by both. This model is validated experimentally, and the shape of a trapezoid is suggested for new classrooms.
متن کاملDesigning for Automated Construction
The majority of automated construction research and development has been bottom-up, from the construction / engineering side rather than top-down from the design end The first part of this paper is devoted to the design of a research programme which seeks to address topics related to the conceptual design of robotic systems for construction, and developing overall design principles for top-down...
متن کاملDesigning Classrooms to Maximize Student Achievement
Improving student achievement is vital for our nation’s competitiveness. Scientific research shows how the physical classroom environment influences student achievement. Two findings are key: First, the building’s structural facilities profoundly influence learning. Inadequate lighting, noise, low air quality, and deficient heating in the classroom are significantly related to worse student ach...
متن کاملDesigning for Physical-Virtual Activities
Computers, embedded in the “background” as well as more obtrusive artefacts (e.g. PCs, PDAs, cellular phones), play an increasingly important role in human activity. However, there are still things that most people would prefer to do “off-screen” in the physical (real) world, such as having parties, reading long text documents, or spending vacation. I argue that there exists a class of activiti...
متن کاملUsing Model-Eliciting Activities for Primary Mathematics Classrooms
The mathematical process Application and Modelling has just been factored into the new mathematics curriculum. Its implication is that even children should now be involved in works of mathematical modelling. Mathematical modelling is deliberated upon in this paper with a view towards supporting the new math curriculum. An example of pupils’ development of a problem representation in this paper ...
